Organisateurs:

August 18-20, 2017
From Zermatt we climbed with the cable car to the Unterrothorn where we admired the stunning panorama offered by sharp peaks and glaciers. After an introduction to the area by our organisators we climbed down to the Fluhalp, our base station for the next two nights. Arrived there, the eager ones dropped their bags and visited the impressive moraine ridge of the Findelen glacier before the early evening rain arrived.
On the following day we reached the glacial forefield via a steep descent along the lateral moraine. The forefield of the Findelen glacier offers a large variety of glacial deposits and glacial erosion features and could therefore definitely fascinate all of the participants. As a goodie before the descent to Zermatt on the last day, Naki Akçar showed as at Grünsee a tree trunk that is stuck below a boulder in a moraine, offering the possibility to reconstruct the dynamics of the Findelen glacier.
